The Story of O: A Graphic Novel
Reading it is no less than a psychological rape. It’s an erotic novel about a Parisian woman on her journey as a slave. Feb 20, Colleen added it. Illustrated s bdsm with mild torture scenes. Open Preview See a Problem? This woman is preyed upon thinking if she submits to what her lover wants, he will never leave her. Oct 16, Victoria Haf rated it really liked it Shelves: She is passed around like property, given to other people, treated like an object not an object of desirebeaten, deformed, and branded.
From French into English. Troy rated it really liked it Jan 11, Oct 17, Tania rated it did not like it. Fabiola rated it it was amazing Apr 26, If you are weak, don’t ever try to put your nose od. The story is authored by a woman, reputedly to titillate her own lover, and I started wondering whether she might have first hand knowledge of the Paris BDSM scene, or whether it was all the product of imagination; at the conclusion I was still wondering, because O’s story does border on incredible, particularly one scene oo she consents to being branded with a hot iron.
Thank God I downloaded this as a pdf, it’s not even worth a penny. What I did like I don’t think I’ll be disappointed though. I found it disturbing.
Bisogna perderci tempo, bisogna rileggerlo, anche solo per gustarsi i vari piani narrativi. To ask other readers questions about The Story of Oplease sign up. Can one women truly have no value to what she is worth? Pages are blocked into just one paragraph. I couldn’t of cared less about all the BDSM sexual scenes, too many and it gets boring. No trivia or quizzes yet.
So O, a passive pathetic excuse for a woman in love, submits herself to strangers as a token of love for Rene. This is not, by any means, what I want to finish the year with. The narrator completely drew me in to the mind and emotions of “O”, as she teIls the story from “O”s point of view.
The whole style is stilted as a result. The author also offers an alternate ending, which some readers may prefer. Want to Read saving….

Despite its erotic tone, it also brings out a I liked this book thus the 3 stars, duh. Return to Book Page. Joshua Topolsky rated it it was amazing Jan 21, Carlos Mendez rated it liked it Mar 11, Where others judge stoory are disgusted by her crepac, O is proud of her condition as a sex slave.
Something interesting and horrible that saves the book from being shallow pornography. This is not to say that I am attacking the entire erotic literary business and all, I am a big fan of Anais Nin and have thoroughly enjoyed her books, however The Story of O is pathetic, abusive, and not the least bit entertaining. The first story, “Justine or the Misfortune of Virtue,” is written by the notorious Marques de Sade in It is overrated, silly, and inhumane. Instead of being repetitive storry, I recommend you read other the sory explaining another important stuff re: Most importantly, however, is that it is clear that the writer does not understand anything at all about BDSM relationships.

The Story of O: A Graphic Novel by Guido Crepax
The blurb to the book states it all: But still the contents are remarkable and as I’ve never read “Justine” by the Storh de Sade, I must rectify that.
In the first adaptation, we come across bondage, monks, soldiers, villainous sadistic creatures tormenting poor Justine. She’s enjoying it, of course, and the cartoons are a delight.
The second part with “L’Histoire d’O”, this is also excellent but more sensuous and titillating than the first. I know nothing about this individual but I found the following review crepaax Amazon which helped to enlighten me: The first story, “Justine or the Misfortune of Virtue,” is written by the notorious Marques de Sade in For those who are not familiar with this work, it is a story about 2 sisters, Justine and Juliette, and their trials and tribulations.
In this book, Guido changed the background story a ctepax, omitting that Justine’s and Juliette’s father fell in love with another man’s woman and jumped right to his bankruptcy and ruin that set the two sisters each on their separate journeys in life. In several other ov, Guido also took the liberty to make minor changes to the story and this adaptation is effective in keeping dtory story focused. The virtuous Justine, we are told through Guido’s illustrations, constantly faces adversity and could not escape a life of misfortunes, while the corrupted Juliette enjoys a life of luxury.
I must be philosophical about it all though and enjoy I also found in my research on this book: View all 18 comments.
